Renewing your UAE driver's license just got easier with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announcing a fully online renewal process effective immediately. Drivers can now complete the entire renewal procedure through the RTA's website or mobile app, eliminating the need to visit physical service centers.The online process requires users to upload a recent eye test certificate (which can also be done online through approved centers), Emirates ID, and vehicle registration details. Payment can be made securely online. "This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to digital transformation and enhancing customer convenience," said an RTA spokesperson. "The fully online renewal process will save time and effort for drivers, streamlining a previously cumbersome procedure." Drivers are still required to undergo an eye test every few years as part of the renewal process.
